Kearns Adds to Hoosier Class
The Indiana Hoosiers added to their already impressive 2012 recruiting class with tight end Tanner Kearns this weekend. The 6'5, 220-lb Lexington (Ohio) product had offers from Cincinnati, Toledo, Central Michigan and several others, but felt he had found his best fit in Bloomington. "Well, I like the coaching staff," he explained. "I got to see the overall atmosphere of the campus. I love campus. I feel at home there and the school of business is amazing there. Also, with Coach Wilson taking over, I believe they're going to win games. I have faith in that. I think we're going to turn into a powerhouse Big Ten school." The Hoosiers' pass friendly offense will play right into the strength of Kearns' game. "He said they're going to use me a lot flexed out, that kind of stuff. They'll use me like that until I get more weight on and get to a solid 250." Kearns has logged a lot of miles and been to a lot of camps. He says to look on it all and realize what is in front of him is an experience. "It feels absolutely amazing. As a kid, I'd always look up to those players on TV every Saturday and say that's what I want to do when I get older. The chance to do that is absolutely unbelievable. I'm thankful for that. It feels great to know that I've made my decision now and I can focus on my season with my friends and teammates back home here."
