Kalan Reed talks Big 10 camp

Kalan Reed, three-star cornerback from Birmingham-Briarwoood Christian, Ala., has been to a couple of camps this summer including a Big 10 camp this past weekend. He talked with Andrew Bone about the recent trip.

"I just returned from the Illinois camp," said Kalan Reed. "The Illinois camp was last Friday. The visit was good. They showed me around the campus and the facilities. I met with the academic advisor before the camp. The campus was real nice.

"The coaches said they really like me a lot. They said they wanted me to keep them in mind. They said they could possibly offer me later. They want to see more film on me.

"The camp was fun. There weren't a lot of people there. You got to be one-on-one with the coaches. I liked coach Gillhamer. He taught me some new things. He broke it down for me. He said he really liked me.

"I like the atmosphere. I really like the coaches they have and what they have to offer."

Reed has scholarship offers from Arkansas State, South Alabama and Southern Miss. He plans to camp at Tennessee and UAB in July.
