Profile 2004 - Trey McCullough (LB/S)
Trey McCullough was a top prospect for the Class of
2003 last season from the Bolles High School in Jacksonville, FL, but
qualifying concerns had some teams hesitant to offer him a scholarship.
Ironically, he had made his test score now, but he is going to spend a
year at Hargrave Military Academy this season in hopes of playing big
time Division 1 ball for the Class of 2004. McCullough
is a fast 6-3 and 195 pounds. He will play safety for Coach Robert
Prunty at Hargrave, but with his frame, he will likely grow into an
outside linebacker on the next level. "Coach
Prunty and I talked about that a little bit," said McCullough.
"We said that I might be a linebacker in college too. That's fine
with me. I got my SAT score back this spring, and I'm fully qualified
now. Some of the schools that I'm looking at are Florida, Clemson,
Virginia Tech, Virginia, and Ole Miss." McCullough
will look to fill a void left by Virginia Tech signees Michael Hinton
and Corey Gordon at the safety spot. Then he will look to follow in
their footsteps to a major Division 1 power.
