Kevin Wilson has Indiana recruiting flying high at the moment, as the Hoosiers have landed ten commitments in the month of June, seven coming just in the last week.
Most recent commitment, Adam Kranda is an athletic, 6'6 defensive end with a lot of potential. He'll need a year or two, but his upside is considerable. We also really like Lexington (OH) tight end Tanner Kearns. He's a natural receiver with great hands and ball skills. He'll fit into Wilson's offense nicely.
Reeling in wide receiver Kevin Davis and linebacker Jordan Wallace was huge for the Hoosiers. Not only are they great players who had multiple BCS offers, but they both come from powerhouse Warren Central, a school that will have many more prospects each year. To go along with Wallace, O'Fallon (Ill.) linebacker Mike Cotton impressed us on film, as did a local sleeper, 6'3 wide receiver Caleb Cornett.
There are still some big fish out there for Indiana, none bigger than quarterback Gunner Kiel. If he commits, and/or the Warren Central boys convince four-star defensive tackle Sheldon Day to come on down to Bloomington, it would make an already strong class into a great one.
Miami (Ohio) has also been on a tear, landing eight commitments in a matter of days. We like their linebacker haul so far. Kent Kern, Nathan Gerbus and Mike Svetina are all from big time programs and have all been productive on the field. Josh Dooley is a multi-talented athlete who could play a few different positions. Running back Jamire Westbrook is a short, stocky back who has been very productive throughout his high school career.
The two most recent, may be two of the best as well. Sandusky Perkins defensive end Michael Ebert has a great frame at 6'6, 245-lbs and could project to tight end as well. South Carolina receiver Rokeem Williams is big, fast, and could develop into a go-to guy for the Redhawks.
Ole Miss landed Whiteland (Ind.) offensive tackle Jake Meador recently. He has great size at 6'6, 300-lbs. We feel he will need a couple years before he will push for a job. He has a great frame and is light on his feet though. He must get stronger and play with a little more of a mean streak.
Toledo has landed three commitments recently. Detroit Crockett QB Brian Blackburn has a lot of raw ability in a 6'6, 210-lb frame. He fits their offense perfectly. Wide receiver Armani Miller is speedy and made a lot of big plays as a junior. The Rockets also landed a sleeper in 6'8 offensive tackle James Henry from Upper Arlington.
Iowa picked up Chicago Curie (Ill.) athlete Maurice Fleming recently. He will be a defensive back for the Hawkeyes despite playing quarterback in high school and being recruited as a receiver or running back by many schools. He's a fast, fluid athlete who we think can learn the position and also contribute as a return man. His commitment will also go a long way with other Illinois prospects the Hawks are recruiting like defensive tackle Jaleel Johnson and running back David Smith.
We're also high on another recent Hawkeye commitment, wide receiver Cameron Wilson, whose run after the catch ability should make him a real asset for Iowa. He also has good ball skills and decent size.
Minnesota got a "re-commit" from Nick Rallis, who had committed to the old staff. We really like him on film. He's a big hitter who finds the ball and closes quickly. He should be a special teams demon early on as well.
Isaac Johnson | DE | Chicago Raby (IL)
Johnson performed well at the Michigan camp and we see some MAC offers coming his way. He's 6'3, 235-lbs with long arms and had good pass rush ability.
Jason Robertson | WR | Lincoln Way East (IL)
Yes, he's committed to Illinois, but in summer 7 on 7s, he has shown that he's even better than we thought he was. His ball skills are elite and he runs great routes. He'll be an impact player for the Illini.
Lamont Osborn | RB | Indianapolis Ben Davis (IN)
After a few nice camp performances, the offers should start to come in for Osborn. He's a nice sized back with good speed and can catch the ball out of the backfield.
