Hurley Lands Big Ten Offer
Dae'Shaun Hurley transferred from Morgan Park to Chicago Julian for this season, and from the looks of it, Julian is going to get a top flight player. Hurley, a quarterback primarily at Morgan Park, the 6'1, 190-lb rising senior has earned a few offers as a safety. "I picked up an offer from Ball State, that was the first one, and Northern Illinois, and U of I (Illinois)." The Illini offered Hurley last Thursday after seeing him at their camp. "I was talking to coach DeAndre Smith, he's the running backs coach, but he's the recruiter in our area. I went down to their camp and I was doing good at the camp. Coach Zook and the DBs coach said I was doing good. After that, Coach DeAndre told me they were ready to pull the trigger and make me an offer." For Hurley, considered a sleeper to this point, to get an offer from a Big Ten school and an in-state school, was a big occasion. "It feels good. I mean, that's one of my top schools that I'm considering." Right now, Hurley says he also hears from Notre Dame, Northwestern, Eastern Michigan, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Cincinnati. He plans on camping with Illinois State, Akron, and West Virginia still, and a decision is not likely to come soon. "I'm going to wait it out into the season a little bit. I don't want to rush into things until I know for sure I have good feeling about the school."
