Bakersfield (Calif.) Ridgeview quarterback Tyler Ferguson is the next quarterback from Bakersfield that is hoping to emerge.
Playing in the shadows of Cody Kessler, the Army All-American now at USC, Ferguson has performed admirably this spring as he searches for more college offers.
“San Jose State has giving me a verbal offer and I’ve been talking with them most,” said Ferguson. “I feel like that’s the school that wants me the most.”
Ferguson has camped at UCLA, Fresno State, San Diego State and San Jose State.
“I like UCLA a lot,” said Ferguson, who’s teammate Shannon Edwards is committed to the Bruins. “I did their camp and did well. And Fresno State is a school I have a lot of interest in.”
Ferguson said that his school ran a lot of Wildcat a year ago, limiting his stats.
“I passed for 1,400 yards and eight touchdowns but we ran Wildcat almost 24/7,” said Ferguson. “I know my senior film will be good. A lot of schools have my junior film, but they want to watch my senior year. So I definitely need to have a good senior year.”
Academically, Ferguson has a 3.0 and took the SAT last month.
