Wise High (Upper Marlboro, Md.) running back Uriah Bethea and wide receiver Zach Pascal both committed to James Madison the same day, but didn't realize it.
"It was a shock to see Zach commit,' said Bethea.
Bethea ended his junior campaign with 1,655 rushing yard and 24 touchdowns with interest from Duke, Maryland, Tennessee and an offer from Towson.
"When I found out that Uriah had committed also, I said, God wants me at this school because my surroundings are here to push me and get me better," said Pascal who selected the Dukes over an offer from Bryant.
Oddly enough, Bethea and Pascal are not the first pair of Wise players to commit to JMU. They will be joining former standouts Anthony McDaniel and DeAndre Smith.
While the two could have waited out the recruiting process in hopes of securing more offers, they both decided that JMU was the right fit.
"Over all, it was a positive environment," said Bethea. "The coaches are winners and that's what I want to be around. They are very strict about organization and academics. You can see that school comes first."
"When I arrived at the campus it was amazing," said Pascal. "It's like I had been there before, but ever since committing it's like a weight being lifted off my shoulders. It's always great to get free education and I believe JMU is going to push me to the next level. I want to come to JMU with an open mind and soak everything in. Also, it's not far from home."
