2013 linebacker Trey Johnson talks about his Tuesday trip to Auburn…
Johnson Has One More School To Visit
Trey Johnson says he's enjoying a little relaxation after a spring that was filled with one important trip after another. He visited schools all over the southeast and was able to get a good feel for quite a few of them. Still, Johnson wasn't able to see South Carolina. He plans to camp with the Gamecocks this Friday. "I realized I still haven't seen South Carolina and they offered me so I definitely want to check it out. A lot of schools wanted me to camp with them but I can't make it to all the camps so I had to be smart about which one I went to. I want to give every school an equal chance and I really want to see what South Carolina is all about." Johnson admits he doesn't know a lot about the Gamecocks. "I haven't heard too much about them and I think that's cool because I can get my own feel for them and all. I'm excited to go there and compete." As for his other schools of interest, Johnson says everyone is on an even playing field at this time. "Honestly, everyone is the same right now. The coaches can't call me so I would have to call them and I haven't really been contacting anyone because I'm focused on workouts. I haven't really talked to anyone a lot." Johnson says he is looking forward to seeing some college games this fall. "I can't wait to see Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Tennessee and LSU again. I've already seen them but now I get to go back and watch games and talk to coaches more." Trey Johnson's 2011 season will be hard to beat. He finished with 152 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. Johnson isn't afraid of a challenge, though. He says he wants this season to be even better. "I know I did well last season but I want to do even better. I haven't set any numbers or anything but I just need to keep doing my job and stay focused. I'm just hoping to top last year."
