At 6'4, 215-lbs with great ball skills, Alex Zmolik went from relative unknown to Division-1 recruit this summer with his camp performances.
Today, he ended his recruitment, committing to the Toledo Rockets, and gave us a little insight into his rapid rise.
"I think it was maybe about three weeks ago that Toledo offered," he said. I went to their camp and they offered me after that. Central Michigan had offered me a week before."
In addition to the two offers, Zmolik says Western Michigan, Ball State, and others were interested. However, he saw everything he needed to see at Toledo.
"First of all, they just built a new business building for their program, which is what I want to major in. They have a great campus and the coaches are fired up and trying to build Toledo and scheduling harder teams and they have had the number one recruiting class and I want to be a part of a winning program. I thought it was the best place to go."
A wide receiver in high school, Zmolik will make a slight change in college.
"I'm going to be a tight end, but I'll split out and do a lot of that."
