Trinity lineman Joe Warburg made the call late last week to head to the Big Ten and play for Illinois. Scout.com caught up with Warburg on his recruitment.

Joe Warburg caught the attention from multiple schools during this junior year and during camp season this spring and summer. He earned scholarship offers from South Alabama, Illinois and Louisville. In the end, Warburg picked the Illini.

"There wasn't one particular reason I loved Illinois so much. It was that I couldn't find anything I didn't like about it," he said. "All I can say is that it just felt right," he continued.

Warburg said the decision to go with Illinois wasn't one he came to lightly.

"Ultimately it came down between Louisville and Illinois. It was really a hard decision," he said.

When he picked Illinois and informed the coaches, the staff was excited to have him on board.

"Coach Brohm was extremely excited. He was so excited that he went and found Coach Zook and Coach Gilbert and got them on the phone too," he said.

Warburg and Trinity are playing one of the nation's toughest schedules this year and he went ahead and made his choice now so he wouldn't have to worry about it during the year.

"I was glad to get the decision made before the start of my senior season. Now I can concentrate on this season and my last year of high school," he finished.
