Indianapolis Pike wide receiver Aloyis Gray has been working as a quarterback all summer and is slated to start there this year. The 6'3, 165-lb prospect has offers from Cincinnati, Illinois and Purdue, and says he now added one from Marshall. He also is looking to add a couple more.
"Well I just got done with the Mississippi State camp and things look pretty promising, so we will see in the next coming weeks and I am waiting on my ACT scores for Northwestern to pull the trigger," he reported.
As for a decision date, Gray simply said, "I'll decide when I get that gut feeling."
Milwaukee Bradley Tech running back Marcus Horne has had a good summer, and had a good performance at the recent Michigan State camp.
"It went great," he said. "I ran a 4.54 forty, had a 36-inch vertical, and 6.89 three cone drill. Coach Salem gave me the thumbs up on the offer, but Coach Dantonio said be patient with him."
This week, Horne will be looking to again drum up more interest from a Big Ten school at their camp.
"Northwestern will offer after a nice performance at their camp on Wednesday. That's the conclusion I'm getting from the talks I've been having with the coaches. I like Northwestern a lot."
Carmel (Ind.) defensive end Shawn Heffern has not yet received word on his Michigan State offer. He favors Indiana and Purdue currently and says it won't be long before a decision is made.
"I haven't really set a date. I think it will be by the end of the month."
The 6'6, 240-lb Heffern also had a strong summer, earning both of those offers after adding 20-lbs and keeping his athleticism.
Michigan Collegiate (Mich.) cornerback Gabe Sanders says, despite previous reports, he does not yet have a Bowling Green offer, but is closing in on some.
