Derrick Moncrief talks new SEC offer
"Kentucky offered me today," said Derrick Moncrief. "I knew it was coming. It was shocking though. I didn't expect it. It's amazing. "I plan on going up there this season for an official visit. I like Kentucky. I watch them on TV a lot. They are a great overall school. They have good academics." Moncrief remains committed to the Golden Eagles, but the SEC programs have his attention. "I am still committed to Southern Miss for now," he said. "I plan on going down there this year for a game. I have been keeping in touch with the coaches. They are just asking me what schools are recruiting me. I am still committed, but I am opening up more to SEC schools." Moncrief's top three schools do not include Southern Miss. "This fall I want to visit Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi State," he said. "I do plan on going to LSU and Southern Miss. The schools standing out to me are Arkansas, Mississippi State and Kentucky. Those are my top three." Moncrief gave a little more insight of the other two favorites. "I like their defense," he said of Arkansas. "It has swagger. I checked them out in the Sugar Bowl. They are a talented team. The safeties are aggressive." "They work hard," Moncrief added of the Bulldogs. "They are a team on the come up. They are always getting better." Follow Andrew Bone on TWITTER for the very latest recruiting news.
