DaCarlos Renfro is one of the more underrated corners in Texas despite seven offers..…
Renfro is Patient
Houston, Iowa State, Louisiana, Memphis, North Texas, Tulane and Western Kentucky have all offered DaCarlos Renfro, the lightning-fast CB from West Orange-Stark (Tx.). Who else is in the hunt to land his commitment? "Arkansas is going to come watch (fellow CB) Justin Thomas and me play this year," said Renfro. "If they offer, we'll probably commit on the spot. We were supposed to attend their camp, but we had the State 7-on-7 Tournament at the same time. "I'm trying to get an offer from Purdue. I like them for some reason. I do like the Big 12, Big 10 and SEC schools. The recruiting coordinator at Purdue loved my highlight tape. He's going to show it to the DBs coach, who is on vacation right now." Utah may the frontrunner for Thomas and Renfro. "I talk to Coach (Morgan) Scalley every day," said Renfro. "He hits me up all the time on Facebook. Utah is going to offer. He (Scalley) already told me. I just have to wait for it to happen." Among the schools that have offered, Iowa State and Memphis stand out for Renfro. "I like Coach (Kenith) Pope from Iowa State," said Renfro. "I also like Coach (Blake) Miller from Memphis. I camped at ULL, but that may be a little too close to home for college. I want to get out and explore the world. "I'm not planning to commit until after my senior season and I'm not sure where I'll take official visits, except for Arkansas. I want to take an official there." Last year, Renfro recorded approximately 40 tackles with seven interceptions for the Mustangs. He and Thomas make up one of the best cornerback tandems in the southwest. "We have a great bond," said Renfro. "We compete for interceptions. We get mad because teams won't throw the ball on us -- even in 7-on-7. When we play 7-on-7, teams just throw to the inside of the field. They won't test us on the outside."
