The prospects who are rated among the top 300 recruits in the country from the state of Tennessee have made their college decisions. Andrew Bone takes a quick look at the players and a couple of others who remain uncommitted.
Five recruits landed in the Scout 300, and all five have already announced their college decision.
Jovon Robinson
, four-star running back from Memphis-Wooddale, is the state’s top prospect. He committed to
Auburn
this summer. Schools continue to recruit Robinson especially Memphis.
Brian Kimbrow
, four-star running back from Memphis-East, surprised many outside the state when he announced his commitment to
Vanderbilt
. Those who covered Kimbrow knew the Commodores were the team to beat after unofficial visits to Nashville. This was a signature commitment for new head coach
James Franklin
.
Will Gross
, four-star quarterback from Memphis-Melrose, surprised many when he gave his commitment to Memphis. Gross committed to the hometown school with other offers like
Tennessee
, Vanderbilt,
North Carolina
,
Kentucky
and
Louisville
.
Chad Voytik
, four-star quarterback from Cleveland, decided to venture outside the SEC. He will take his talent to the Big East next year and play for
Pittsburgh
. Voytik committed to Pittsburgh turning away from
Mississippi State
and Vanderbilt. He will compete in the U.S. Army All-American game.
Drae Bowles
, four-star wide receiver from Jackson (Tenn.) Christian, committed to Tennessee in July. Bowles has also been selected to compete in the U.S. Army All-American game.
