Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral quarterback Matt Morin has camped at numerous spots throughout the West and had a great spring and summer.
Ultimately, the Southern Californian decided that he didn't want to go too far for college.
On Saturday night, Morin committed to San Diego State, a quick hour drive from his Temecula home.
"It's a great school and a good fit for me," said Morin.
The southpaw said it was important for him to make his decision prior to the season.
"I'm very glad to have the decision made before the season," said Morin.
Last fall, Morin threw for 1,719 yards and 12 touchdowns to five interceptions and rushed for 292 yards and three touchdowns.
