Vegas RB Runs Wild

#8 Bishop Gorman's Shaquille Powell had six touchdowns and an interception against #43 Chaparral.

There were only a handful of games last week, but even if there were a full slate of games across the nation, running back Shaquille Powell still would have been a safe pick as the Player of the Week.

Powell is a two way star for #8 Bishop Gorman (Rankings) who scored six touchdowns and had an interception against #43 Chaparral on Fox Sports last week.

Powell has good size at 5'10 and 200 pounds. He has adequate speed, but it's his vision and balance that make him an outstanding runner. Defenders just slide off of him as he keeps his center of gravity, churns his legs and twists his torso.

Bishop Gorman has another nationally ranked opponent on the docket this week as #16 Armwood will hit the field for the first time since losing the Florida State Championship to #11 Lincoln last year.

Armwood's first order of business Friday night will be to accomplish was Chaparral was unable to do, slow down Powell and the Gael running game.

Powell found a lot of success running behind the strong side of his offensive line which includes Scout 4-Star Ronnie Stanley and nationally ranked center prospect Ron Scoggins. Stanley and Scroggins line up at strong tackle and strong guard respectively.
