The Breakdown: C.J. Bates
Louisville won back to back state championships earlier in the decade, so the Wildcats know a thing or two about winning. In 20102, Louisville finished the year 8-5 falling to eventual 4A state champion Lafayette in the second round of the state playoffs. C.J. Bates did his part to help Coach M.C. Miller's squad be the best it could be. C.J. wore a lot of hats for Louisville. He completed 24 of 47 passes for 285 yards and a touchdown. Bates had 291 yards and two touchdowns on 58 carries to go along with 543 yards and eight touchdowns on 39 pass receptions. On the defensive side of the ball, C.J. had 19 tackles, three interceptions, two pass deflections and a forced fumble. He also helped out in the return game returning 11 punts for 151 yards. Bates was also the leading scorer on his team scoring 12 touchdowns and converting ten two point conversions. C.J. is an impressive athlete who can pretty much pick his spot position wise. He has very good ball skills that would serve him well as a receiver or at safety. Bates is an extremely competitive player who believes he can go head to head with any player who lines up across from him on both sides of the ball.
