Gilbert (Az.) Mesquite RB/DB Anthony Lopez makes commitment

Scout.com has confirmed that Gilbert (Az.) Mesquite RB Anthony Lopez has ended his recruitment.

Sources close to Scout.com have confirmed that Lopez has committed to the University of Arizona. He picked the Cats over ofers from Idaho, Air Force, Montana and Colorado.

Lopez says, "I committed because of the great environment, how close it is to home, the great coaching staff and players."

Lopez has rushed for 254 yards and 1 TD thus far in 2011 for MHS but UofA is recruiting him as a defensive back.

Does not dance, makes a cut and hits the hole. Has some shiftiness but at the same time is a physical back that will finish his runs. Mid-major to 1AA prospect at RB but is getting BCS looks as a CB.
