Waters a JuCO Prospect to Watch
Matt Waters, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound wide receiver from Iowa Western C.C. is leading the Reivers in receiving yards and receptions, so there is no wonder that he is hearing from schools. To this point he does not have an offer, but all the schools staying in contact are BCS. "Right now I have mostly just been getting a lot of letters from the summer throughout the beginning of the season from Kansas State and Auburn," Waters explained. "Iowa State and Northern Iowa out here to see us play." "I am a possession receiver. I do not have 4.3 speed, but I catch everything and work hard to be a great blocker." Last season Waters was catching passes from Ole Miss QB Zack Stoudt, but this year it is his brother, Jake Waters, slinging him the rock. He has played with his brother his entire life and would continue to do so in college if the opportunity allowed, but he is not set on that being in the cards. "He's my younger brother and right now it is just like it used to be in high school and when we were younger, but I would not say it is a bad thing to play somewhere else in college, it would be fun," waters explained. "Stoudt and I had a connection last year and it would be great to develop that with another quarterback." So far this season Waters has reeled in 17 passes for 313 yards and scored two touchdowns to help 4-0 start.
