Starr Enjoys Visit, Remains Solid
Norco (Calif.) four-star linebacker Scott Starr took his first official visit this past weekend. He was one of several highly rated recruits in attendance at Sun Devil Stadium to witness ASU's convincing victory over USC, the school where he is currently committed to. "It was cool," he says of the visit. "ASU was a great atmosphere. The crowd was pretty crazy and it was a really fun time. I loved how crazy the crowd is, and I love having the crowd like that because I feed off that energy. I can only imagine what it feels like to play in front of that sold out stadium. There's one person in particular that really draws Starr's interest in Arizona State. "When ASU was on defense, I was mainly watching Vontaze play. That's my favorite player in college football," he says of Sun Devil linebacker Vontaze Burfict. "I know that he's most likely going to the draft after this year, so it was cool to watch him play and talk to him after the game." "It was just small talk," Starr says of the interaction with his role-model. "He knew who I was when I walked up to him and I obviously knew who he was. He's actually a really quiet guy; some people don't really understand that about him. Everyone thinks he's like a mean person, but he's actually a quiet, really nice guy when he's off the field." Though he enjoyed his time in Tempe, Starr, who committed to USC at the end of May, has previously stated that playing for the Trojans is an opportunity he's dreamt of since he was a young kid. "I just wanted to see ASU and of course, how USC responded on their first road game, he told Scout.com. "I just want to be able to explore all my options. I don't know if I'll take all five visits, but I know that I'm still going to take a couple more." His pledge to the Trojans remains solid. "The commitment to USC is 100% right now," he confirms.
