One of the top names still left on the Longhorn recruiting board is Woodlawn (La.) defensive end…
Davis Accepts U.S. Army Bowl Invite
"I've been having the invitation to the (U.S. Army All-American) game for two or three weeks," said Torshiro Davis, who will play in the star-studded San Antonio event. "I talked to (fellow LSU commit) Lamar Louis, who is playing in another all-star game. He's was checking on me to see about my commitment to LSU. We also talked about the Oregon deal (both participated in The Opening Presented by NIKE Football during the summer). "I haven't set any dates yet for officials, but I'm planning to visit LSU, Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma. I might take one or two before the season ends. LSU's defense is just ridiculous. I really can't that any team has a better defense. Their coaches are talking to me about early playing time as a freshman." What about the other programs? "Texas is also talking about early playing time, but the thing with Texas and OU is they want to keep me at defensive end. Right now, I want to play defensive end, but at my size - 225 to 230 pounds - I feel like I may be better at linebacker in college. "LSU and Alabama are both talking about linebacker." Woodlawn is still looking for its first win of the year, and Davis and his head coach have made a pact. "My coach isn't shaving until we win and I'm not getting a haircut," he explained. "We had a rough start to the year. This week, we have Captain Shreve and it's somewhat of a revenge game for us after they whooped up on us last year (35-16 Shreve win)." Davis is ranked as the nation's No. 8 outside linebacker by Scout.com.
