Nigel Bowden plays middle linebacker for Central High School and stands 6'1 and 225-pounds. The University of Florida is showing interest and paid Central High a visit last week.
"Things are going real good," Nigel Bowden said. "Coach White came by my school and told my coach he wants me to come down for the Florida-Florida State game at the end of the year. It's a real big game and a game I really want to see. He also told my coach he will come watch me play real soon."
Central lost a close game last week but it wasn't because Bowden didn't do his part.
"It was a hard fought game but we came up short. I played real good and coaches told me I played real good. We were going against one of the best running backs in the region but he didn't do it to us and was knocked out of the game."
Bowden has one verbal offer at this time from Vanderbilt. Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Miami and Florida State have all shown interest and could be the next teams to offer.
Bowden doesn't know a whole lot about the Gators but has paid attention to a few things and talks about his game.
"I know they are a real tough team and the new coaches are trying to coach them up. They work real hard during the Summer. I am a linebacker that gets after it all around the field. I am in on all the tackles and I blow up gaps. I think I have great pursuit down the line and am a team player."
