Kettering Alter will look to stay unbeaten and improve their playoff chances this Thursday when they travel to play Cincinnati Roger Bacon in the FOX Sports Ohio game of the week.
Alter is led by junior quarterback Malik Zaire, and the 6-foot, 190-pound, playmaker is having a great season, both running and passing the football. The Alter offense still features the triple-option, but they are doing more with Zaire in the shotgun and running a spread offense to better utilize his skill set.
Zaire, who will be one of the highest-rated prospects in Ohio for the class of 2013, is a dual-threat quarterback along the lines of Ohio State freshman Braxton Miller. He currently holds scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Ohio State and Wisconsin.
There are several other junior prospects for Alter, including defensive end/tight end Greg Hart (6-foot-4, 215-pounds), center Cody Collins, and safety Mitchell Burnette. All three should be receiving Division-I looks.
Roger Bacon has struggled to a 3-5 record, but two juniors are receiving attention. Defensive end Joseph Newton (6-foot-4, 225-pounds) and cornerback Dalen Wess are both prospects of note.
Look for the telecast on FOX Sports Ohio this Thursday evening at 7 PM.
