Louisiana 1A Top 10 Rankings - Week 7

West St. John and four-star LSU commit Ronnie Feist have won two in a row entering this week's district showdown vs. defending Class A state champ White Castle. Feist will focus his attention on containing White Castle RB Tyre Bracken, who is among the state's leading rushers with 1,192 yards. What's happening around the state in Class A? 1. OUACHITA CHRISTIAN (1) -- (7-0) -- Last week, the Eagles defeated 3A Loyola College Prep, 48-12. Braden Bristo threw for two touchdowns. He and sophomore Quin Graves have combined to throw 16 TDs with no interceptions. Sophomore Ahkeem Henderson ran for 119 yards and a score. This week: Arcadia (4-3)

2. VERMILION CATHOLIC (2) -- (7-0) -- Last week, the Eagles defeated Gueydan, 41-6. Aaron David completed 6-of-7 passes for 180 yards and two TDs. Jacoby Davis ran for 142 yards and four TDs. This week: Sojourner Truth Academy (2-5)

3. MANGHAM (3) -- (7-0) -- Last week, the Dragons defeated Delhi Charter, 31-0. Mangham gets a litmus test Friday against perennial power Oak Grove, which is rebuilding - at least by Oak Grove standards. This week: Oak Grove (4-3)

4. CENTRAL CATHOLIC (4) -- (6-1) -- Last week, the Eagles defeated Ascension Episcopal, 48-0. No other details were available. Three-star prospect Lloyd Grogan (pictured at bottom) favors Mississippi State. He plays a variety of positions for CCMC, including RB and LB/S. The Eagles have blanked three consecutive foes. This week: at Gueydan (1-4)

5. HAYNESVILLE (5) -- (6-1) -- Last week, the Golden Tornado defeated Louisiana New Tech (Plain Dealing), 34-8. Head coach David Franklin's team jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter, according to Haynesville statistician Hunter Bower. Levert James scored on runs of 8 and 10 yards. Trevor McGee and DeMarcus Jackson each added TD runs. Jackson connected with Jarrell Jackson on a 39-yard scoring strike. This week: at Logansport (0-6)

6. WEST ST. JOHN (6) -- (5-2) -- Last week, the Rams defeated Ascension Catholic, 47-19. Kylum Favorite went ballistic, tallying 340 yards rushing with three TDs. This week: at White Castle (2-5)

7. CEDAR CREEK (7) -- (6-1) -- Last week, the Cougars defeated St. Frederick, 64-6. Cedar Creek rolled up 523 yards of total offense, according to Cole Avery of the (Monroe) News-Star. Adam Van was 5-of-5 through the friendly skies for 147 yards and two TDs. This week: at Louisiana New Tech (5-2)

8. ELTON (8) -- (7-0) -- Last week, the Indians defeated Hamilton Christian, 43-14. Micah Lavan has 1,006 yards rushing this fall. This week: Oberlin (4-3)

9. ST. MARY'S (9) -- (6-1) -- Last week, the Tigers defeated Montgomery, 49-16. Derion Porchia is seventh in the state with 1,165 yards rushing. He's first in scoring (134 points, including 24 TDs). This week: 2A Many (5-2)

10. ST. MARTIN'S EPISCOPAL (10) -- (6-0) -- Last week, the Saints were open. This week: at Haynes Academy (2-5)
