Stewart: "More Fun Every Time I Visit"
"It's more fun every time I visit Houston," said Trevon Stewart. "I went with Jaydrick Declouet, Lorenzo Phillips, Denzel Johnson, and my dad. When we got there, we walked around and I showed my relatives what the atmosphere is like. The fans are great and the team played great. I like the way Case Keenum runs the offense with his receivers. After the game, we hung out and then came back to the school on Sunday. "Lorenzo got the tour and then we talked with Coach(es) (Kevin) Sumlin, (Jamie) Bryant, (Jason) Phillips and (Zac) Spavital. We had a great weekend and are going back on November 19th for the SMU game." Both Stewart and Declouet are committed to Houston. "I talked to Jaydrick earlier today, and he loves it more and more each time we go to Houston," said Stewart. "The coaches showed Jaydrick the depth chart and with Patrick Edwards leaving, he has a chance to start next year. He really likes that and is solid to Houston. He's ready to go back." Patterson is 7-0 and has been ranked No. 1 in Class 3A by Scout.com since the preseason rankings were released during the summer. "I have 18 touchdowns," said Stewart, who leads the Lumberjacks in scoring. "My dad tells me to try to score every time I get the ball, so that's what I do. I'm doing good, but I'm going to have to do better and step it up come playoff time." Patterson has defeated every opponent this fall by at least 24 points and has routed its last four opponents by a combined margin of 228-19.
