2004 Prospect To Watch - Anthony Turner High School - Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade-Julienne Position(s) - Quarterback Height, Weight, Speed - 6-3, 212, 4.6 Honors - 1st team all-conference and honorable mention all-state in 2002. Scholarship Offers - Miami (Ohio), Ball State, Bowling Green, Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan State, Indiana and Cincinnati. Favorites - PENN STATE leads Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. Comments - In my eyes, Brian Hoyer from Cleveland (St. Ignatius) is the best quarterback prospect in Ohio and the Midwest for that matter. However, Dayton (Chaminade-Julienne) signal caller Anthony Turner looked very good on film and at the (Ann Arbor) Nike Camp. Several schools have already offered Turner a scholarship. “Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan State, Indiana, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio) and Ball State have all offered me a scholarship,” said Turner. “Penn State is my leader right now. I also like Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. “The only schools that have called so far in May are Bowling Green and Cincinnati. “I’m going to a lot of camps this summer. I’ll be at Notre Dame, Michigan State, Iowa, Kentucky, Penn State and Miami (Ohio).” Turner threw for 2,100 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior. He’ll be a three-year varsity starter in 2003. He led his team to a 14-1 record and state championship a year ago. |
