Randy Powell hearing from Red Raiders
Posted Nov 9, 2011
Randy Powell, a 6-foot, 210-pound junior college safety out of Scottsdale, has been hearing from Coach Tommy Tuberville and company lately. The interest has picked up in the last 24 hours.
"I am getting strong interest from Texas Tech right now,"
said. "I think the offer might come tonight."
The Memphis reverse transfer started hearing from the Red Raiders a couple of weeks ago, but the interest continues to increase for the expected mid-year transfer.
"Coaches Dunn and Prunty have been calling me a lot lately. They said they really need a safety and that they are very interested in me. I am going to speak with them more about it tonight."
Powell likes several things about Tuberville's program.
"I like the conference they play in, and I like how wanted they make me feel. They really caught my eye when they beat Oklahoma which is a very talented team. I also like how they make me feel wanted. I play better when I am around coaches that make me feel wanted."
Powell has 22 tackles and one sack on the season for Scottsdale College. He has set up an official visit to Jackson State on November 19th.
