"I have an official visit to Texas A&M in weeks when they play Kansas," said Powell. "I'm stoked to get an offer from the SEC. That's a big one for me."
The following weekend, Powell will visit Washington officially.
Last weekend, Powell took his first official visit, to Nebraska.
"It was good, I liked the facility and the people out there," said Powell. "Everything that they showed me and how they treated us was good. I had fun out there."
Powell was hosted by Todd Peat, a Western native himself.
"Todd was real cool," said Powell. "He said all the people are focused on the football there and he said it was good at Nebraska and he liked it."
Powell said that his offers have been mostly as a fullback, though Arkansas State offered him as a defensive tackle.
"USC is also recruiting me as a defensive tackle," said Powell. "But they haven't offered yet."
Powell and his Upland teammates are 9-0 going into their final regular season game and moved into the Scout Top 50 this past week.
