Scout.com Ranking: #32 QB
Scout.com live evaluation: Jeremy was 6-8 for 117 passing
yards/1 TD and had 8 rushes for 83 yards/2 TD's against Leake Central in the
first half before the starters were pulled. Lafayette now has the state's longest
winning streak which stands at 29 games.
Liggins' stats are not mind-boggling because he has only played in the second
half in two of the thirteen games. You could imagine what they would be if he
stayed in the whole contest. Liggins would have a chance to break jusst about
every state record imaginable but due to his team being so much better than
their opponents he rarely plays more than a half.
What will amaze you is to see a 275-pounder run the ball like the Oxford, MS.,
resident. It is hard getting use to seeing a guy this size possess the speed
he carries. No, he is not ultra quick but as you can see in the highlights below
from the first round contest we attended, he still possesses moves that makes
defenders miss. But what he does have is top end speed. Once he gets those legs
churning, he is plenty fast enough to take it to the house, and there are not
many defenders who want to get in his way once he does build his speed to top
end.
Liggins still needs to work on his mechanics throwing the ball, but like Phillip
Rivers, it seems to always go where he needs it to go. Once he enters a college
weight program and re-shifts his weight around, Jeremy is going to be a human
highlight machine on the next level.
