Mike Coppage - Southeast/Southwest Recruiting Analyst
Friday:  O.P. Walker (Algiers, La.) at Teurlings Catholic (Lafayette, La.) at 7:00 P.M.
Top Prospects:  Teurlings Catholic (2012 QB and UL-Lafayette commit D'Shaie Landor), (2012 WR Dylan Bossier), O.P. Walker (2012 four-star CB and LSU commit Dwayne Thomas), (2012 QB Devin Powell), (2012 OL/DL Marques Cheeks), (2012 WR Raymond Jackson), (2013 LB/DE Lyn Clark).  This is a high-profile second round playoff game in Class 4A between two programs that reached the 2010 semifinals.  Two of Louisiana's best QBs will go head to head with No. 6 Teurlings featuring dual-threat signal-caller D'Shaie Landor.  During the regular season, Teurlings was the only school to defeat powerful Breaux Bridge, and the Rebels made it look easy.  Landor's favorite target is Bossier, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound deep threat.  No. 6 O.P. Walker, located on the West Bank of New Orleans, counters with 6-foot-5 gunslinger Devin Powell.  He throws the ball to an array of speedy receivers, including Jackson and Thomas.  An LSU commit as a corner, Thomas plays receiver on offense and is liable to line up anywhere on defense for the Chargers.

This Kansas Class 5A state semi-final match-up features a rematch between two emerging powers in the classification. Blue Valley owns one of the most potent offenses in the state, which helped lead the Tigers to a 40-6 blowout victory over the Trail Blazers when the two last met Oct. 28.
The top prospect to watch is Blue Valley junior Clay Rhodes. A 6-foot-6, 250-pound offensive tackle, Rhodes is already receiving attention from some of the top programs in the country, intrigued by his athleticism. He projects as either a tight end or, with a little time to bulk up, an outstanding tackle at the collegiate level.
