The third round of the playoffs is over and there were more impressive performances in Kentucky’s playoffs. Scout.com presents some of the highlights of the game.
RB- 5-10 180 lbs.
Junior running back Dalyn Dawkins was a force for the Shamrocks in their 42-6 victory over archrival St. Xavier. Dawkins rushed for 226 yards and two touchdowns in the third round victory.
RB- 5-10 185 lbs.
Central defeated Bell County 26-0 to claim a regional championship. Ace Wales rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns, including a 71 yard scamper to finish off the contest.
WR/DB – 5-11 175 lbs.
Louisville Eastern finished off an outstanding and somewhat surprisingly successful season in a tough loss to Scott County. The Eagles fell 52-14, but junior Shane Fields scored both of the touchdowns for Eastern with five catches for 81 yards.
QB 6-1 175 lbs.
Bowling Green blasted crosstown rival Warren Central 52-19 Friday night to claim the regional championship. Senior quarterback Scooter Hollis threw for 190 yards and rushed for another 120 in the contest. He rushed for two scores and threw for one in the victory.
QB – 6-5 235 lbs.
Senior quarterback Patrick Towles continued his tear, rushing for 106 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw for 11 completions and 242 yards and one touchdowns pass. Highland defeated Covington Catholic 49-14.
WR – 5-11 170 lbs.
Nacarius Fant helped Bowling Green to a big victory over Warren Central Friday night. Fant had five receptions for 106 yards in the game, including a big 52 yard touchdown reception.
QB – 6-4 195 lbs.
Drew Barker and Conner finished their season Friday night when they were defeated by Anderson County 31-30. Barker rushed for 111 yards and two scores. He also had 69 yards passing in the defeat.
QB/DB- 5-9 170 lbs.
Fort Campbell defeated Paducah Tilghman 20-17 last night behind a great performance by senior Aaron Hills. Hills carried the ball 30 times for 123 yards and three touchdowns. He also had two interceptions on the defensive side of the ball.
