Blandin Sticking with ASU Commitment
Long Beach Poly wide receiver Josiah Blandin was the first of five teammates to commit to Arizona State in March. As the news of head coach Dennis Erickson's firing was made public today, Blandin reacts. "It was tough. Obviously I'm still committed, but Erickson was a great guy. He was a really good guy." Blandin had already planned on taking a few official visits. "I've always kept my my options open, but Arizona State is most likely where I'll end up, because I really love the school. I haven't taken my official visit yet. I haven't taken any official visits yet. I'll probably take them to Colorado, Hawaii, maybe Oregon State. That's pretty much it.It's just tough, he was a really good guy to me. ASU is still where I'm going to go, because that's where I've always wanted to go." Blandin spoke with teammates Salamo Fiso, Randall Goforth, Richard Smith, and Matthew Rowe, who are all Sun Devil commits. "At lunch we were talking about it. It's different for us because when we did visit out there, he pulled all the Poly players to the side and talked to us personally, so we didn't want to go, but no matter what, we're still going to be part of Erickson's team."
