Scout.com live evaluation: Dennis is shredding defenses this
season just as he did last year when he rushed for 2,249 yards and 26 touchdowns
on his way to a state championship. In fact, if you look at Dennis' last
two seasons for Lafayette, his' numbers are scarily similar. This season
he has rushed for 2, 247 yards and 26 touchdowns. Here is something else you can hang
your hat on. Dennis' sophomore season he averaged 9.47 yards per carry, junior
season it was a 9.52 yard-per-carry average, and this season he is running at
a 9.4 yards per carry. Bottom line this young man knows how to run the ball.
Many people have wondered why Dennis is not receiving more recruiting attention
than he is currently. He's quick, shifty, and runs with a low center of gravity.
Dennis uses his vision to weave in and out of traffic but the one area where
he does need work for the next level is his top-end speed. His top-end speed
is not slow by any means but it is not quite as fast as his quickness in his
first 10 yard, and that is what makes great running backs in today's game. The
first 10 yards are critical and that's what Dennis possesses. If a college
has the luxury of having the time to develop Class 4A's leading rusher the last
two seasons, he will have a good one on his hands.
