Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure starting quarterback Marc Evans has been hearing from several programs, but is still fighting to bring in that first offer.

"I was talking with SMU, but I am not really sure what's going on with that," said Evans. "The main one is San Diego State. They are really contacting me a lot and calling me every week. I would really love to go there."

Evans attended San Diego's camp this summer and recently visited their campus for an official visit.

"I went down there to watch their game against Boise State," said Evans. "It was a lot of fun. I really like the environment down their and all the hype around the football program. Overall it was a great experience."

Evans says he is hoping to set up some official visits soon. Evans discussed some of his options.

"I know San Diego State for sure, maybe Sacramento State, Oregon State and SMU depending on what happens," said Evans.

Evans talked about what he is hoping to find at the next level.

"I am looking for a second home. Pretty much where I can play anywhere, and I feel comfortable in that spot," said Evans. "Also somewhere that's close to home, which is one of the reasons why I like San Diego State. Getting a good education is really important too, because football only goes so far but education goes forever."

St. Bonaventure has advanced to the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Playoffs. There next game is this Friday against Oaks Christian.

Evans talked about his strategy going into this game.

"The strategy is just to pound the ball because we have great running backs, to communicate well on offense, and to bring our A-game," said Evans.
