TE got visit from Miami Wednesday
Will Johnson talked about his senior season at Osseo High in Minnesota. "We had a real good season and we went 9-2 which was our school's best record in about 30 years," Johnson said. "I'm not big on keeping all my stats but I probably had around 30 catches this year." Johnson, 6-foot-7 and 245 pounds, is now switching gears and sports. "Now that football is over I'm going to play basketball one more year since I'm a captain and everything," he said. "But, I'm still lifting and training for football." Johnson has become a major college tight end prospect because of his size, athleticism, academics, and playmaking ability. He talked about the latest. "I'm going to West Virginia on December 9th and Minnesota this weekend," he said. "I'm probably going to go down and visit Miami soon too. I don't have a top school yet. I like West Virginia lot, and Miami. They both have top programs with strong traditions." Johnson received a visit from one of those schools on Wednesday and expects another to come by next week. "Miami and Central Florida were at my school today, and West Virginia is coming Tuesday," he said. The standout tight end prospect says he also enjoyed a couple SEC programs when he took unofficial visits there. "I liked Auburn and Ole Miss a lot when I went to those schools. Their campuses and facilities were really cool. I also liked going to Iowa, they always seem to have a strong football team." Finally, Johnson talked about what he's looking for in a school. "I want to be somewhere that feels right. I have to get the right feel for it. I also want to be somewhere that always has a strong football program, and good academics." Inside the classroom, Johnson claims a 3.0 GPA and a 22 ACT score.
