Julian Brooks, the three-star wide receiver from Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon spoke with Arizona’s new head coach Rich Rodriquez last week.
Brooks discussed his overall impression.
“It was a quick introductory phone call. Coach Rodriquez talked about how everyone on his team is apart of his family,” said Brooks. “He seemed like a cool, nice guy, but I really don’t know much about him except the nice first impression.”
In the mist of all the transitions going on in the Wildcat’s football program Brooks has modified his commitment to a soft verbal.
“It’s really confusing because I consider both Arizona and Arizona State as my top two choices, but it’s hard to say that with all the confusion around both coaching staffs,” said Brooks. “It is definitely really important to me to know the head coach and coaching staff, and to have consistent communication with the program before I can really evaluate a program.”
Other schools seem to be jumping on the opportunity to make an impression on Brooks, since his status with the wildcats has opened up.
“In the last 2 or 3 weeks I have been hearing from Oregon and Washington,” said Brooks. “I am excited about both programs and I am looking forward to learning more about those schools.”
Brooks already took his first official to Arizona State last month, but is planning on taking more officials soon in order to evaluate all of his options.
“I would still like to take officials to Arizona, Washington and Oregon,” said Brooks.
