Until recently Upland (Calif.) wide receiver Kenny Lawler had been committed to Arizona State. He recently backed off of that commitment and with his exploits in the CIF-SS Playoffs, he's going to find himself a hot commodity on the recruiting circuit.

Wide receiver Kenny Lawler (6'3/180) is a dynamic wide receiver from Upland, Calif. who has helped lead his team to an undefeated season and No. 30 national ranking in the Scout Top 50.

Up until this week's coaching change at Arizona State, Lawler had been committed to the Sun Devils. He has backed off of that commitment and has begun to look around at other options including Washington, Nebraska, Cal, and Oregon State in addition to Arizona State.

Lawler's exploits through the first two rounds of the CIF-SS playoffs are sure to garner him even more attention. Lawler has elevated his game as the stakes have gotten higher and has hauled in six touchdown passes in two games including his three touchdown performance on Fox Sports West's game of the week last week against Charter Oak.

Lawler is long, lean, and athletic, and his hands are as sticky as any in the country. He adjusts well to the ball on the run and is deft at making last minute adjustments on long balls. One of his best catches looked like a slight push off in full speed, but super-slow motion shows that Lawler was merely getting feel for the location of his defender before cutting under him for a key touchdown pass before the half.

See his three touchdown performance against Charter Oak in this presentation from Fox Sports.
