Wheeler Talks Visits
Santa Monica (Calif.) offensive tackle Chad Wheeler committed to the Trojans in mid-September. This past weekend, the three-star recruit took an official trip to Los Angeles. "It was good," Wheeler tells Scout.com. "On Saturday night we went to the Coliseum while it was empty and we stood at the middle of the field and watched highlights; that was great, it was pretty cool." How would he rate his commitment to the hometown school? "It's pretty strong," he says. "I love the history, the coaches, and the people in general." The Trojan commit had a chance to chat with USC coaches about his future role. "They're going to use me on the offensive line and for special teams," he shares. "I'm hoping to bring impact to the next level on any side of the ball. If they put me on special teams to block field goals or wherever, I want to impact in many ways." Though Wheeler says he's set on the Trojans, he isn't quite finished taking visits. "I'm going to visit Cal Berkeley this weekend," he reveals. "That's the only visit I have planned so far." "I'll be looking at the environment there and everything. I'm really interested in their political body, just how political the campus is and how much of a college town it is."
