MS/AL All-Star: Kirby Wixson
Kirby Wixson profile "I feel like I have improved as a player and it's a great honor to be a part of this," said Kirby. "I am really enjoying being out here with all of the other guys." Wixson admits he had to knock off a bit of rust on the first day, but that he began to settle in today. "Yesterday was a little slow," said Kirby. "I've been out of my groove because we've been out of the playoffs for a while. "Today was real good for me." The challenge for Wixson and his peers is putting together a solid unit of blockers in a short amount of time. "Most of these guys I met at Mississippi lineman camp," said Kirby. "I know all of these guys. We're good friends and we're working hard now to be good teammates." A win this weekend would mean a lot to the Pearl Pirate product. "Alabama has won this game like five years in a row," said Kirby. "A win this weekend would mean everything to me. I want to win this one for the state of Mississippi." The chance to play on the next level is in hand, but Wixson is still undecided when it comes to his college future. "I have offers from Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, Hinds, Northwestern State and Arkansas State," said Kirby. "I don't have any visits set up yet, but I plan on going and talking with the coaches at Mississippi State and Ole Miss. "I am not sure what I am going to do yet. I guess I'll probably wait until the last minute to decide."
