MS/AL All-Star: A.J. Stamps

A.J. Stamps has become one of the top pass catchers in his home state of Mississippi over the course of the last two years. His selection to the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game gives A.J. a chance to showcase his skills on the big stage.

"It's a big honor to be in this game," said A.J. "It's been a lot of fun playing with the other guys."

Stamps had a huge senior season this year, but he believes he could have done better.

"I feel like I had a pretty good year," said A.J. "I broke some records and I hold all of the Warren County records.

"I have played against some of the corners who are here with me in this game, so I feel like I did okay."

Several college recruiters have shown interest in the talented wideout.

"I have heard from all of the JuCos, Jackson State, Alcorn (State) and Mississippi State," said A.J. "Most of the JuCos have offered, Jackson State has offered and Alcorn has too.

"Mississippi State said they would offer after a year in junior college."

Being from a football family. A.J. knows about hard work and sacrifice.

"My family is always on me to keep working hard and stay on the weights," said Stamps. "They are telling me to do the things I need to do and keep my head on straight."
