Lake Forest Academy is not your average high school. The Northern Illinois program features a sprawling campus with the type of historic, classic "school" feel that has allowed it to be the site of several major motion pictures.
When Faith Ekakitie came down from Canada to see the prospective school with his father, his main thought on the school was:
"It was like Hogwarts."
Three years later, Ekakitie is a major FBS football prospect, although the school's administrators say, "he's still just Faith to us, and we treat him like any other student."
That's how Ekakitie wants it. He lives on the Lake Forest campus and takes care of himself, from laundry to buying toiletries, to making sure he gets up at the right time each day. No wake up call from Mom like most high school boys.
All of that, combined with the stellar academics he has been a part of (he had Anatomy, Astronomy and Shakespeare back to back today), has him as college ready off the field as any recruit in America. Throw in his frame, athleticism, and his relative newness to football (he's only played for three years), and you have a prospect with great upside.
Without further ado, meet one of the truly unique players in the Midwest and find out his college choice.
Special thanks to Ted Stewart, Alexandra Campbell and Faith Ekakitie.
