Dwayne Washington, the three-star wide receiver and Washington commit from Cerritos (Calif.) Gahr is traveling to Seattle on Friday, for his first official trip of the season.
“I want to find out how I will fit into their pro-style offense and to see what Seattle is like,” said Washington. “I am also looking forward to meeting up with the coaches and the players.”
Washington discussed his close relationship with Washington’s special teams coach, Johnny Nansen.
“I talk with Coach Nansen twice a week,” said Washington. “He also came by for an in-home visit last week to meet and talk with my mom.”
After a successful in-home visit Washington rated, just how committed he is to the Huskies.
“Right now I am 100%, but I still want to take a couple other trips,” commented Washington. “I’m thinking about going out to Utah with Delshawn McClellon when he goes out there in January.”
Washington’s favorite characteristic about the Huskies is the way they run their offense.
“They run everything, including a lot of trick plays, “said Washington. “The best part is, there is a good chance I could come in as a true freshman.”
His passion for the game was evident during his senior season. Washington finished the season with 15 touchdowns and 66 receptions, totaling 1,338 yards.
