Louisiana Tech added a commitment from Archbishop Shaw (Marrero, La.) defensive end Stephen Gibson this week.

Archbishop Shaw (Marrero, La.) defensive end Stephen Gibson gave a verbal commitment to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs this week.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound senior joined forces at Shaw with 6-foot-5, 240-pound senior teammate Ryan Brown (Mississippi State commit) to form one of the best bookend combinations in the deep south.

Gibson helped Shaw reach the first round of the Class 4A playoffs. The New Orleans West Bank Catholic program also produced current Tech players Chad Boyd and Christian Lacey.

There's another Gibson waiting in the wings at Shaw: Sophomore QB Quentin Gibson, younger brother of Stephen. Look for Quentin to receive plenty of attention over the next two years from college programs, including Tech.

More to come on this story.
