Alex Washington is making the trip from Columbus, Ohio feeling both nervous and excited. He knows…
Washington Gains First Two Offers
St. Francis de Sales in Columbus (OH) senior Alex Washington grew up in a football household. His father, Alvin Washington played for Ohio State, while his older brother Al Washington Jr. played for Boston College. Now it's Alex's turn. The nose guard just picked up his first two offers from Air Force and Navy. "I've talked with Coach Judge from Navy earlier and Coach Miller from Air Force was at my house last week. What they both pointed out was the commitment that both schools require." He's also been hearing from his brother's school, Boston College. "Coach Sirmans was at some of our practices this season." Washington doesn't plan on dragging his recruitment out. "I'm scheduling visits for both schools in January. I'm hoping to make my decision afterwards next month." With his commitment approaching, the lineman says that his relationship with his coaches will be the most important factor when it comes to picking a school. "I want to have a good relationship with the line coach as well as the head coach. I also want to go to a place with a good program. I don't want to be too far from home, but distance won't be a defining factor." Washington has a pure love for the sport. He says he likes watching old clips of Warren Sapp as well as checking out Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. "I just like the way they play full of energy sideline to sideline."
