The Game: This game was completely dominated from start to finish, as Manatee defeated First Coast by the score of 40-0. Manatee outgained First Coast 4-1 in total yards and held the Bucs to negative 71 yards rushing! Manatee wrapped up a 13-2 season, while First Coast lost their first game of the season.
Best Player: Manatee junior quarterback Cord Sandberg had an excellent season and he ended it with one of his best performances. A very talented dual-threat quarterback, Sandberg threw for 180 yards and one touchdown and ran for 78 more and a score, without turning the ball over. He did a great job of managing the game and doing exactly what his team needed. It was, by far, the best quarterback performance against First Coast all season. Sandberg will be one of the state's top quarterback prospects in the 2013 class.
Top Senior Prospect: First Coast freshman quarterback DeAndre Johnson was intercepted twice and sacked five times in 23 pass calls so it was definitely not their night throwing the football. And while Brandon Brooks led the team in receiving, wide receiver Chris Black is still a top notch prospect. At 5-foot-11, he lacks elite level speed but he's a difference maker and has been all season. He has game-changing type ability and Alabama is getting one of the state's premier wide receiver prospects.
Top Underclass Prospect: First Coast MLB Daniel McMillan -- and it's probably not even close. He was the best player on the field, period, and one of the best overall prospects at the entire state final series all weekend. At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, McMillan has good instincts, he runs really well, he's an explosive tackler, and simply is the absolute leader out there. FC has a couple BCS-caliber senior linebackers (Reggie Northrup-Miami and Joseph Jackson-North Carolina) but McMillan is on a different level and looks like a top 5-10 player in the state already. He's already getting recruited nationally and if he stays healthy and hungry, he will make a run at being considered the state's top overall prospect in the 2013 class.
Other BCS prospects (not already mentioned): Manatee Jr DT Derrick Calloway
