Donovan Smith profile
"The entire All-Star week was a good experience," said Smith. "I enjoyed everything about it."
The chance to play with some of the state's best talent meant a lot to Donovan who was made the move from quarterback to wide receiver during his junior season.
During the lopsided win by the south, Smith found the end zone.
"Dontreal (Pruitt) made a great play on the touchdown," said Donovan. "He just kept the play alive and he found me in the back of the end zone."
Smith is hoping that a good week of practice and a solid showing in the actual game will help boost his stock as a college prospect.
"I am hoping it helps me," said Donovan. "I had a chance to go out there and compete against some of the top talent in the state and show everybody what I can do."
The talented wideout is hopeful that some recruiting magic comes his way in the coming few weeks.
"I have heard from a lot of junior colleges like Gulf Coast, Pearl River and East Mississippi," said Smith. "Jackson State has been showing some interest lately.
"They want me to send in a new transcript and I am going to do that next week.
"I am going to get all of that sent in and I will just from there."
