Quick Hitter: Four-Star Brown
The most recent big news regarding running back Wes Brown of Good Counsel (MD) came when he took his first official visit to Vanderbilt early in December. The visit surpassed his expectations. "I was expecting country music and that Honky-tonk feel but it was exactly like what I am used to here at home (Baltimore) - the city, the buildings and the campus. I wasn't expecting that. It was really nice," he described of Nashville. With three official visits left, the 6-foot-0, 190-pound downhill runner has two schools on the list - and potentially a new one creeping into the mix. "I am taking one to Miami along with Colorado, and maybe Oklahoma, sometime in January. The Oklahoma coach wanted me to come check them out." Brown has yet to lock down any dates for his remaining official visits, but intends on doing so after bowl season. He will be participating in the annual all-star Chesapeake Bowl in Maryland Dec. 30 followed by the ESPN Under Armour All-American Bowl in Orlando, FL on Jan. 5. As signing day nears, the pressure rises for Brown. At this point in time, he is hearing from one school more than others. "The school turning up the heat most is Vandy."
