"We have big news," said Cyril Noland. "We (Noland and Kentrell Brice) switched our commitments to Oregon State. The relationship with the Oregon State coaches; their constant communication back and forth with us made the difference.
"Coach (Chris) Brasfield, our area coach, and Coach (Keith) Heyward, the position coach, were responsible for recruiting us. Actually, it was Coach (Mitch) Meeuwsen, a graduate assistant, who first showed my film to the other coaches and then it went from there.
"I passed along the info about Kentrell to Oregon State. We're excited about the chance to play together on the next level. We've been together all day."
Noland and Brice will visit Oregon State in two weeks.
"Even though we're going away from home, I don't feel like we're going to miss out on anything," said Brice. "It felt right; they sold us on Oregon State.
"I'm very happy and my family doesn't mind me going away from home. They actually wanted me to get away.
"Fans up there should get ready for a show from us."
Noland echoed those sentiments.
"We're taking our talents to the Pacific Northwest," he said. "Oregon State is on the rise."
Brice (pictured below) and Noland were each named all-state. The duo brought the Bearcats to the '11 Class 5A quarterfinals.
Missouri, Ole Miss and Nebraska all made recent efforts to sway Brice, who was committed to Missouri at one point.
