SAN ANTONIO - Jordan Diggs had his eye on numerous SEC programs and he felt South Carolina was the best for him.

"South Carolina is the perfect school for me," Jordan Diggs told Scout. "I get along with the coaches, I get along with the players, and it just feels like the right school for me."

Diggs also had his eye on Tennessee and Vanderbilt, but the Gamecocks won out for the 6-foot-1, 195 pound safety out of Cape Coral (FL) Island Coast.

He has already visited his three finalists officially.

Scout's Take: Diggs is a physical safety who can support the run inside the box. He has pretty good instincts and he is a good athlete as well. He needs to improve on his footwork and his overall speed in space.

Chad Simmons is currently a National Recruiting Analyst for FOX Sports/Scout. He started with Scout in 2003 and then moved on to another Recruiting Service from 2004-2008 before returning to Scout the first of 2009 to become South Recruiting Manager.
