SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Scout.com selects corner back Ishmael Adams alongside the Pete Dawkins Co-MVPS wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham and quarterback Cyler Miles.

Scout.com Selection

Ishmael Adams, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound cornerback Oaks Christian High in Cali., had an excellent game on Saturday. He was excellent in coverage and stayed in the receivers hip pocket and also was able to secure an interception, cementing his status as the Scout.com selection as MVP by a slight margin.

“It means a lot to me, all the hard work I put in and just the bond we made with each other,” Adams exclaimed after the game. “We knew when we came out here we were going to handle our business. At first when I came out here I was joking around and said when I get a pick that I was going to be done, but once we got in to the game and the emotion of the game I was just having fun and I was excited to be out here.”

“I really just wanted to share this experience with my friends and family and I am really just excited about getting this honor from Scout.”

Adams heard a little about the speed on the East coast, but he felt like he stacked up with those guys just fine, as a matter of fact he hangs his hat on his own speed.

“Actually I was working out with Maurice Green right before I came down here (former Olympian) and we just put in a lot of works. My uncle told me to work about my core and sit-ups and I won the sit-up competition at the dinner, so my speed was the top part of my game. They were talking and I was talking a little and we were excited to show what we have.”

Pete Dawkins Co-MVPs

Dorial Green-Beckham, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound wide receiver had a couple of drops in the game, but he also secured the longest pass in the 12-year history of the game -- 79 yards. That pass broke the previous record that was held by Chris Leak who hooked up with Andre Caldwell back in '03. 'DGB', who did not announce during the contest, is still considering schools like Oklahoma, Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas and Texas and will announce his decision on National Signing Day.

The quarterback who threw the pass, was Cyler Miles, a 6-foot-4, 220-pounder from Mullen High in Colo. Had an excellent game, so many in the press box were surprised when he had to split the MVP honors. He completed 7-of-8 passes for for 155 yards, showing some good accuracy and the ability to deliver an accurate deep ball. He also cashed in a 6-yard touchdown run, scoring twice all together.
